Good Morning,
Until now I have been an observer of the comments pertaining to ABC and
BOC, however the recent letter dated March 3, 2004 signed by the ABC
president and has prompted and initiated this response.
Disappointment, disbelief, and disgust are shared by many of my colleagues
that have earned their title. Our leaders have succeeded in lowering the
educational standards they claim to promote.
Since we have lowered our educational standards, here are a few
contemptuous comments.
1) Why not let all practitioners (that are still practicing in the field)
and have failed their ABC board exams write a life paper which will allow
them to purchase an ABC certificate.
2) Perhaps some of our esteemed ABC board members and practitioners that are
certified in one discipline will take advantage of this wonderful offer our
board of directors endorses and purchase the opposite discipline.
3) Should we consider aligning with an Internet University and purchase our
masters degree? Then our education standards would be equivalent with
physical therapists, right? ---------------- Wrong, they have to EARN it.
With the distribution of the March 3, 2004 letter from ABC, our profession
has taken to giant steps backward.
Sincerely,
Ed Skewes CPO
