I posted a question last week asking where to send used
prosthetic and
orthotic devices and I received an overwhelming response. Thank
you. I
will contact a few of the organizations. Here is the list to
anyone else
who is interested. I have included names when they are
important.
Soon I'll create a kind of market were people can donate, ask
and exchange
prosthetic and orthotic devices, prosthesis, crutches, rollators
and so one,
on my website www.beenamputatie.nl. At this moment I've only in
the Dutch
version such a section, but I'll also create one on the English
section
because often people in the USA and Canada also want to know if
there is a
good destination for used but good products, Kind regards,
Marianne
(Holland)

It is a tough thing to take care of out of Canada, but I wish
you great
success. Thank you for being so open with an attitude of
donating and not
discarding (when discarding comes easier) and a heart for others
in need.
I represent a humanitarian organization in Romania, where we
have been
functioning for the last 5 years. We closely collaborate with a
humanitarian
organization, called Assist International from Scott's Valley,
California,
who also would forward goods to us.
Please do not hesitate to contact me in case that you would like
to further
pursue this. I know that it might take some of your time.
Yours sincerely,
Jaco du Plessis
South African registered Prosthetist/Orthotist
We closely collaborate with www.CasaMinunata.org and
www.caminulfelix.org
Our own webpage is still under construction.

I don't know if they have a site or not, nor how to contact, but
do a search
for limbs for life foundation.

I don't know for sure of any place in Ontario, but I do know of
the Wascana
Rehabilitation Centre in Regina and the Abilties Council in
Saskatoon that
would use them. The IODE used to have some involvement with
charitable works
at the North York Hospital in Toronto (Sheppard and Leslie) Hope
this helps.
