The American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists offers several scholarship opportunities to those interested in furthering their O&P education. Two of the three scholarships offered will be awarded at the Academy's Annual Meeting this March. Criteria for both scholarships are listed below:
Chester Haddan Scholarship - Awards $1000 to a deserving O&P certificate program student. Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited O&P certificate program as well as (1) demonstrate a financial need, (2) display leadership qualities, (3) contribute to their own education financially, (4) provide a recommendation from someone currently working within the orthotic and/or prosthetic profession.
Ken Chagnon Scholarship - Awards $500 to a deserving O&P technician program student. Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited O&P technician program as well as (1) demonstrate a financial need, (2) show exceptional technical aptitude, (3) contribute to their own education financially, (4) must provide a recommendation from someone currently working within the orthotic and/or prosthetic profession.
Interested individuals should apply immediately. The deadline for entries is
January 20.
