Amputee scam
Text:
It would appear the following individual is running an amputee scam on the
Internet. I have received the same following e-mail over two dozen times in
three years.
Al Pike, CP
>>dear sirs; i am Larry a left bka of about 11 years. i lost my leg in a
motor cycle accident. it was a very bad accident and much more damage was done
than just my leg. doctors said i would not be able to do industrial maintenance
any more. ovr helped me, and i commend them. even though i am a veteran of the
Vietnam era. the va. gave me the run around. i returned to work and had blue
cross, select blue and they took care of my leg problem for ten years without
me ever missing a stride. i got totally fed up with my job and prayed for
something. low and behold a new job close to home,i have been there 11 months. i
like it and my employer seems to be pleased with my maint. abilities. I told
them up front i was missing a leg and was worried about ins. problems. they
checked with health assurance and said i was 100% covered and ther was no types of
waiting clauses. i went to my leg doctor and got new alpha liners and a
sleave. I went through all the procedure! s of referral, prescription, and in network
care. now the insurance company is telling me about all these different
limitations, and are not willing to pay. what can i do? i like this job, even
though it is very hard on my leg and wears the sleaves out about every six months.
Also broke my carbon foot during all of this. itook it off and replaced it
with my back up foot. i am ok for now, but it will just be a matter of time
before my leg will not be up to standards for working a full time work week.
