I have not posted to this site before, but feel it is necessary to do so with regard to the posting by Hugo at DAW.
It was a nice apology by Hugo, however, with regard to the claim that the DAW knee has a microprocessor, I was at the Las Vegas meeting and saw the DAW sales presentation and these are the real facts regarding the DAW knee.
The manufacturer of the DAW knee is Teh Lin, and according the Teh Lin web page, the Teh Lin knee is not a microprocessor, it has an integrated circuit. Here is the link to the The Lin site to confirm this fact.
<URL Redacted>
It is plain fact of science that a microprocessor is not an integrated circuit.
Second, at the Vegas meeting the DAW salesman claimed that all the gait studies regarding the DAW knee were done at Kessler Institute, however, one of the other speakers at the Las Vegas meeting called Kessler and it appears that Kessler has no record of testing the Daw knee. The statements made by DAW and the facts seem to be in dispute.
At the Vegas meeting DAW was asked to provide facts and science regarding the knee. I have requested such data and I know of others that attended the Vegas meeting also requested data and to date none has been provided.
Now DAW provides an apology on the list serve and then spins the message to turn the apology into a sales pitch making blanket statements to promote a product without any supporting facts. The message here to all of us is practitioner beware.
