After a lot of years dealing orthotically with exostoses on the at the plantar-medial aspect of the Calcaneus, I have been sent a patient who presents with a spur on the epiphyseal line on the lateral aspect of her calcaneus i.e. approx. 1/2 up from the floor while weight bearing. The doctor who sends all of his similar cases to me sent her with glowing reports of the successes that the Rx usually achieves. Richard fixes all of my spurs - he'll fix yours too
Perhaps because of the different position of this overgrowth, I would like some advice. I could just apply the same principles and try to change the strain on the soft tissues (direction, magnitude etc), but I am sure that others have met similar cases and would have their favourite Rx's. Any ideas?
