Ossur Affiliation
Text:
Hello everyone,
Point well taken!! I opted to not join the affiliation as well because it is
my opinion that our corporation spens enough money with Ossur monthly that
this should have been a perk to us for supporting the manufacturer.
I agree that Ossur only looks after the best interests of Ossur. There is no
love lost here. What is amazing is that they would suggest to the writer that
he should look into affiliated fascilities for the next prosthesis!! He never
stated that he was not pleased with his current prosthetist, did he?
Ossur, I think you are treading on thin ice here. You may want to re-think
the position you are taking. At the meeting we had with Ossur, they informed us
that this affiliation was to create an opposition to Hanger Orthopedic Group.
Obviously it is turning into a much bigger field now.
So, how do we as a profession deal with this manufacturer? Do we stand united
and tell Ossur to back-off and to stop referring our patients to affiliated
fascilities? Can we as a group create this united front for once?
I will leave you all with this thought. Thanks to the writer for bringing
this to our attention.
