Ralph, this is true but I am old enough to know and remember that at one time
ABC was honored by many state and federal agencies, and the O&P industry.

One did not get business or paid unless there was an ABC practitioner on
staff. Many manufactures and distributors of components would not sell to
anyone not ABC certified. Otto Bock Orthopedic was the last hold out on that
policy and it even at one time tied ABC certification to product warranty, I
know I was there and help uphold the policy.

A physician friend of mine once said O&P does not know what it wants to be a
profession or a business. I believe that question has now been answered by
our actions. The question today is in what manner do we conduct that
business.
