Responding to the request of Airline Ambassadors International thru OPAF
,the Barr Foundation's South and Central American Project Coordinator, Eddy
Fuentes,CPO, Shriners Childrens Hospital in St.Louis and his brother Julio
Fuentes a prosthetist in Guatemala, evaluated a child from Puerto Barrios
Guatemala,Gladis Ventura Raymundo.
The 9 year old, double amputee, was evaluated by Eddy and his brother on
Saturday, August 17, 2002 in Gautemala.
Mr.Fuentes reported After a careful evaluation, I believe the child is a
good candidate to be treated at Shriners Hospitals. I had an application
with me which I handed
to her custody. The process of this application depends on how soon they
get the documents required such physician certificates, vaccination
records, and the application filled out with the proper signatures. Also,
how soon they send it to me so I can take to the chief of the staff for
pre-screening and to the applications department for processing.
