In checking the TLSO L-codes, there appears to be one missing. That is,
L-0430 doesn't say whether it applies to a single-opening or bivalve design.
AOPA's interpretation is that it is for a single-opening design. Their
reasoning, I believe, is that when a spinal code is meant to apply to a
bivalve, it states, two piece construction. But many prefab bivalves are
fitted in this country. How are they billed? Am I missing another code, or
are you really supposed to use the same code for single opening as for
bivalve?
Thanks, in advance, for the help.
