I have an MS patient who has advanced symptoms with neuropathies, LE weakness
and occasional spasticity. She does not ambulate but needs an AFO that
has minimal contact, due to heat problems and can not stand shoes, for
transfers and a couple of steps for her bad days. We have done the metal
type, SA AFOs but are rejected due to the hotness that either the shoe or
plastic generates. Her problem with the ankle is lateral rolling. The
spasticity, which I have not seen, causes and equino-varus position as she
describes it.
All thoughts and ideas welcome.
