I have recently seen a patient in need of a PTB AFO.
Which thermoformable (metal head double action)ankle joints, if any, could
tolerate the stress that would be expected in a brace of this sort.
I am trying to avoid the weight and bulk of external uprights.
Patients weight is 190# Patient has good knee strength, but has Bilateral
Tib-Fib FX which have begun to heal. Ankle joints would be locked to start
with. Motion would be increased in the future.
I don't know of anything that could take the stress, but I am hoping it might
exist.
I thought I would post this to consider other ideas before I began
fabrication.
Thank you, I look forward to any responses.
