ORTHOTIC & PROSTHETIC TECHNICIAN PROGRAM
PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Primary Function: Program Director is responsible for the administration of a nationally accredited Orthotic and Prosthetic Technician program. Conducts a competency-based instructional program. Instructs students in theory, professionalism, and competencies necessary for employment and the national registration examination.
Qualifications: The director must be an ABC-certified practitioner or equivalent. Must be either an ABC-certified orthotist (CO), prosthetist (CP), or both (CPO). Must be in good standing with the American Board for Certification in Orthotics & Prosthetics, Inc. (ABC). The Director must have a bachelor's degree and five years prior teaching, clinical and administrative experience in a related field, preferably in orthotics/prosthetics education. Must have excellent writing skills, computer skills, and preferably digital imaging skills for curriculum development responsibilities.
