Since it seems I had something to generate this latest soup rampage, I ask we stop going backwards and remain focused on the issues at hand. I apologize for the distraction!
We've been there, done that! Federal law, whether you like it or not makes both certifications qualified to provide these comprehensive services and are eligible to belong to the national trade association.
If you have a problem with it take it up with the leadership of your national associations or your congressional representatives whom made it law !
I appreciate those of you that have come to my personal defense re: the recent comments and comparisons of the two credentialing associations but I ask that we drop this dialogue as to not cloud the real issues that should be addressed.
In my opinion, I have witnessed both sides of their work and dedication,.
The fact is, there are very capable providers that hold either or both of these credential as well as certified providers that should ..........retire!
Either certification does not qualify you to be regarded as a professional in the eyes of many third party payers.
Perhaps a license required in every state will better identify you as a legitimate health care professional, help stop the bashing and improve coverage for patients and reimbursement levels for providers.
Yes, I am sure there will be licensed providers that are unqualified to perform these services but at least there is recourse to remove them from the profession. It's all about ACCOUNTABILITY and the consumers of these services have none in unregulated states which continues to be detrimental to improving patient protection and receiving proper coverage.
Some of the questions addressed to the Academy and AOPA leadership remain unanswered, so do many that have been addressed to the leadership of ACA, whom is supposed to represent the interests of the consumers.
Can we refocus on those again?
1) Can AOPA publicly post their official position on NOMA and their members pursuing exemption from regulation in Florida,Teas,California and other regulated states?
2) What is the Academy's and AOPA's position on the Stock& Bills issue asked previously by several of their members.
3) If AOPA continues to refuse to address these and other questions publicly and to non AOPA members,
is it not the Academy's responsibility to address these questions to their members and to the patients they are to advocate for on their behalf as the result of the Academy delegating these legislative negotiations to AOPA ?
4) Specifically, since qualification issues are educational based (AAOP mission) and AOPA provided legislation negotiations support on the behalf of their own a trade association and the Academy, is it not AAOP's responsibility to do disseminate to their members, the reasons of that support was provide and answers to the Stock and Bills issues?
5) Is AAOP aware of the fact that members of the secret society NOMA maybe also be current members of AOPA and that they are attempting to sabotage and circumvent regulation efforts in states that already have regulation and states that are currently advocating regulation? Is AOPA is aware of this fact that some of their members are they part of that support ? Do they care?
Do you?
Thank you,
Tony
