Does our facility have to treat a patient, in other words can we refuse to
provide services to someone?
We had this patient three years ago in the hospital, we fit her with a
cyberteck brace post op. Her brace came undone and she says she fell, they
took x-rays and the Dr. cleared her from any injury as a result. Yet she
still tried to sue us and cyberteck. We even provided her with a different
brace 6 weeks later, which she never paid for. Later when she wanted us to
cover some of her medical expenses, we refused because of her out standing
bill. She was difficult to deal with and extremely persistent.
Today she came into our office and before I realized who she was I answered
some questions on different types of back braces so she could get a Rx from
her new Dr. Can I refuse to provide services to her? Who knows what type
of problem she will be this time. Thanks Pam
