I ran this idea by my husband who works with computers - here is his reply -
i'll be looking for some other way to feel good about life !

Bad idea - Your compter is definetly more vulnerable. If your on the
internet a hacker has to log onto the box that host the site get through
their security and find your IP Adress - If a site is hosted by a hacker
your giving them you IP Adress right off. However if the site is legit its a
good idea - it depends I quess if you trust the source who told you about
this.
