Thank you Mary. We appreciate your gracious offer to help us in this endeavor !

We not only urge ACA to encourage meaningful advocacy workshop(s) at their July meeting but in addition, sincerely hope that ACA will also provide support via a formal Position Statement of a important advocacy issue, Qualifications of O&P Providers, which is in their review at the present time.

Many of us question why ACA, a national consumer organization, has supported lower provider qualification standards than those supported by the national credentialing association of ABC and the largest O&P professional association of the Academy (AAOP) members.

Pursuant to your suggestion, I have asked Becky Bruce to assist us in scheduling the Advocacy Workshop Committee for Anaheim.

We encourage additional consumer supporters, including the remaining 9 out of 12 ACA Regional Representatives, numerous ACA Support Group Leaders around the country, and professionals to make our message clear.

Please provide your support by contacting me thru this listserve or to me privately at <Email Address Redacted>

  Tony,
I noted the progress of you plans for the workshop and want to congratulate you on this effort. Advocacy for amputees is certainly needed and the only way to succeed is to join hands and work together as we did for many years.
I hope that ACA can provide a forum and support you in this workshop. Certainly individuals like Becky Bruce will remember that that is a primary goal within the ACA mission statement. She has a lot of ability to coordinate efforts and work on implementation.
        Good Luck! Mary
