I am wondering if anyone has fit a Van Ness (foot at ankle level, surgically
fixed posterior and used as a knee joint) amputee with a silicone type liner
pin attachment for suspension. I have made 5 artificial limbs, Van Ness type,
in the last 25 years.
If anyone has attempted, failed, been successful I would really appreciate
your experiences. My only issue is the asymmetrical shape and smoothness in
the foot configuration. Do I first envelop the foot in a liner (non pin
attachment) to create the smooth outer surface, then apply a liner with pin
attachment, then cast over the foot? Very thick and heavy, not good. I would
love to figure this one out.
All answers will be shared with the group, if you want. Let me know if you
want your suggestions and or name used as reference (possibly first name).
Thank you all in advance for your time.
God Bless America!
