Hi all,
I have a perplexing problem and was wondering if
anyone can shed some light on a solution.
Trans-Femoral amputee, mid length, fair strength and
control, middle aged about 50 kg.
The stump is skinny and has some redundant tissue.
Currently the patient is wearing an Iceross Comfort
liner, in an IRC socket.
Our problem is when he walks. At heel contact he has
a marked external rotation of the prosthesis.
Now, my usual fixes for this have not helped;
Softer heeled foot, and softer heeled shoes.
Alignment checks and changes.
Numerous sockets trying to lock on the pelvis.
Suspension belt.
My last resort is looking like a hip joint and pelvic
band...which neither of us wants.
Any ideas out there?
Any similar experiences?
Regards,
-Aaron Williams.
