AK Continuous Covers & Skins Question

Text:

I have a young female AK patient who wants a skin on
her prosthesis for improved cosmesis, and so she can
wear sandals without hose in the summertime. She does
not want a discontinuous cover, as the knee unit is
visible with many of her outfits.

I have tried a couple of Daw Skins and experienced the
following problems:
She is tall & thin, so the skin which fits her foot &
height is too large circumferentially. Even after
repeated heating, stretching & Ace bandaging, the
problem still exists.
I have tried adding more foam to increase the
circumferences of her continuous cover, but this only
works partially, & temporarily. It seems the Daw skin
quickly compresses the soft foam, and all benefit is
lost.
Also, she experiences quite a bit of squeaking from
the skin rubbing against her sandal. Certain
lubricants seem to relieve the problem, but again only
temporarily.

Any advice on resolving these issues with the Daw
skin, or different skin/ cover options would be
*greatly* apreciated. (I contacted Daw, but they had
no suggestions beyond what I'm already trying.)

Thank you,
