I received varied responses to try companies that I have never even
heard of before. I have learned through my research that casts are not
generally used unless the curve is unusual or large. The standard
protocol is to use measurements and most suggestions were to use the
Boston Scoliosis Brace. Because of funding, I chose the
made-to-measurements Ox.

Whine time: I would hope that Boston places more intelligent
representatives to answer questions, though. The gentleman with whom I
spoke did not sound very intelligent and answered most of my questions
by stating, Cast however you feel comfortable. Should I correct the
curve within the cast? Should I straighten the back or leave her in
natural lordosis? All questions were answered, Cast however you feel
comfortable. They modify the cast symmetrical anyhow. Given this, I
figured that good measurements and X-rays would serve the same purpose.
I realize that Boston is a well established and quality provider, but
they need more intelligent customer service personnel! End of whine.

The Scoliosis King Gurus that were mentioned were as follows:

Tom Gavin- the one I was looking for- in Chicago
Tim Owens- Charlotte, NC
Don Katz- Texas
