Tony,
The Boston Brace customer service response was inappropriate and
should have been referred to one of our clinical staff, who we have available
for such inquiries. We are looking into this to be sure that clinical
questions are indeed passed along to the appropriate clinical people. I
responded to Joan regarding casting techniques. Don't worry, we have our
scoliosis patients seen by ABC certified orthotists at ABC certified
facilities. I agree that we do need to ensure quality care for all patients,
and we at Boston Brace have been working with the Academy to provide
increased scoliosis education and develop clinical standards of practice
within the field.
