I wanted to thank everyone for their opinions and help regarding this fitting
situation. Unfortunately, this person's residuum has become necrotic and the
surgeon has informed me that it will be quite some time if ever before she
can be fitted. It should be said that several practitioners asked the
question (and it is a good question in this day and age of managed care) as
to whether this fitting should be attempted. I never evaluated this person so
I cannot comment as to whether she is a candidate or not.
For those that are interested, there are no knees that are rated to this
weight. The few feet that are would involve a k-level of 3 or 4. One company
stated that they had components rated to 450# (but no knees). Email me if you
are interested. An exo with no knee, a SACH and lots of carbon made the most
sense to me.
