Dear List Members: I may have missed it, but my summary post with the
reponses to my question about filling alginate impressions of hands does
not appear to have gotten through the system to the list. I'm not going
to put the whole thing together again, but will summarize.
1) Use dental stone.
2) Fill with resin - don't set off too hot.
3) Contact Livingskin for silicone impression material
4) Fill molds with a slush coat of resin. After it hardens, fill with
plaster, resin, or foam. Don't seal the top of the negative when using
foam, or it will ruin the mold as it expands.
Many thanks for all the responses and the ideas about how to handle
these molds.
