Hi Everyone,

Here are the responses I recieved on voice recognition software for
charting.

POSITIVES:

We use Dragon Naturally Speaking's system and it works great. you
need to work with it a while to train it for consistant voice recognition.

I have used DragonSpeak Software with Word and Works documents that
I developed. The software works good with about 90 % accuracy in diction
with system training. I find using computer documents and keeping those
stored in my hard drive and by minimizing my clinical notes this is a much
better method than dictation or voice recognition.

We are just installing a program called Dragon from Bliss industries here in
the Southeast. You have to have a pretty fast computer, 800 mHtz or
faster, a good sound card, and a hard drive with about 20 GB.

Try Dragon Naturally Speaking. I hear it's outstanding.

Try ViaVoice from IBM.

I use Dragon Naturally Speaking Professioal Version. This software is
commercially available at retail stores such as Staples. The software
comes with or with out the digital recorder. I recommend getting the digital
recorder as it iterfaces directly to a USB port. I have used this software
successfully for aout 8 months and it works well. But you must be prepared
to spend about 3-4hours per practioner to train each user. The nice thing
about this software is its availability, price (under $400.00), and it works
directly with Microsoft Word and Word Perfect. The software also constantly
updates voice patterns for each user. I transcribe onto standard size full
sheet label and then cut each dictation and stick it in the chart. Hope this
helps you out.

Sorry!
