Penile prosthesis

Description

Title:

Penile prosthesis

Text:

I received a call yesterday from a gentleman who has had his entire penis
surgically removed as a result of a rare infection. Due to other
considerations (herniated abdominal area) he is not a candidate for penile
reconstruction and an implant.
He is 47 years of age and prior to the surgery had a healthy intimate
relationship with his spouse. His testicles are intact and therefore he
retains his hormones. They have tried various phallic, strap on prostheses
available from seedy book stores with no success. He relates to me that
these devices are grossly large and are painful to his wife. They also have
no practical way to stabilize them. He has talked to numerous physicians who
are unable to assist him.
He wants a normal sized penile prosthesis made from something like
silicone, that would have some kind of flange at the base so it could be held
in place with spandex pants. I have no experience with this sort of thing,
now have any knowledge of where to direct him. I would think that there is a
source for medical grade devices such as this.
I would appreciate any ideas from the collective group.
Please, no humor.
Thank You,
Ron Kidd, CPO
