Pediatric Cosmetic Hose Responses

I ended up trying the Knit-Rite child sheath. It was small enough but too
short in length. Also, the lack of an elastic band at the proximal edge did
not keep the sheath from falling down. I'm going to try the narrow short
which is one size up from the child. Thank you for your responses.

Dear List,
I'm in need of some pediatric cosmetic hose for a 2y/o with a knee
diarticulation prosthesis. I'm using an Otto Bock endoskeletal lock knee
unit.
Measurements:
foot 12cm
calf 8-1/2 (21.5cm)
ankle 5-3/4 (14.5cm)
length 9 (23cm)
If you know of a manufacturer of something this small that would be great.
I've tried Comfort Products, Otto Bock, and Daw. I'm looking into
alternatives like a small, narrow prosthetic sheath. Your suggestions would
be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Bobby Leaber, CP
Responses:
1) worst case, cascade has fleshtone stockinette part # 01815 that you could
stitch at the toe.
2) You could try the Knit-Rite Prosthetic B/K Sheaths available in white and
dusk colour. These are available in the US from Cascade Orthopedic Supply
#1-800-888-0865 or in Canada from Cascade National #1-800-810-6104.
3) Have you tried a doll store, they may have them or know of someone who
makes them for larger dolls.
4) I have used Knit Rite Trans-Tibial cosmetic hose in
the past for pediatric applications. You will
probably need a size small.
5) Hi
Why not paint the leg? Would a hose just tear up in a weeks time?
6)Rober:
I would probably try JC Penny's or another childrens store and find whatever
works.
If it is a female patient I know JC Penny's has tights or leotards that might
work okay.
