Dear members,
My CPO husband & I are working with a gentleman who has a recent unilateral metacarpal amputation. He is missing alll 4 fingers and has his thumb intact. He is a farmer. We are looking for ideas, suggestions, etcetera for something other than the standard laminated socket with hook. We are NOT comcerned with cosmetics. One avenue we are currently exploring is a company called Texas Assistive Devices (or close) that has a multitute of tools that fit into a standard soft wrist brace (like Camp's). Does anyone have experience with these? They are new. We are looking for any interesting ideas that some of you may have had success using or companies that deal with partial hand amputations specifically. Again, not cosmetic restoration, but farmer functional.
Thanks in advance,
Joan Cestaro, C.P.
