Hi,

I am interested in understanding the process a patient in need of an orthosis
goes through to obtain a device in the USA. Will a patient first go to a
physician? Will a physician treat that patient or will they refer the patient to
an o and p clinic, where the patient will be treated by an orthotist? Is it
common for a Doctor to order products from a manufacturer? Do physicians ever
use the central fabrication process?

I would be grateful for any help in understanding the American process.
Thanks
Nicola
