Mark,
I think you hit the nail on the head with this one. That would be a discussion I would like to be a part of. I think that DAW still insists that their pneumatic knees are the only TRUE variable response knees available. In school we all learned that compressed air behaves like a fluid and so be it pneumatic or hydraulic, they are both fluid controlled knees. Now the IC knees tout the only TRUE variable response. Is this something like FAT FREE meaning essentially nothing when it comes to selling food products? I do understand that most knees out there have a range with which they will work in. Some work well at slower speeds and some at a full blown run. The IC knees in effect have widened or possibly eliminated the ranges of operation by being able to detect the speed, direction, moments, etc...and adjusting the cylinder accordingly. With all the new products coming out it is impossible to keep up with all of them although I do try. Sometimes we are left with nothing but a flyer sent to us by a marketing department to go by and a salesman that can quote you a price but knows nothing about the product. Keep up the quest!
