URGENT: How many US amputees cannot afford prostheses? Answers sought.

There are obviously quite a few amputees worldwide who cannot afford
prosthetic services.
Many of them are pretty well covered by the various global aid organizations.

How is the situation in the United States?
Do you see amputees who ask for a donated limb?
Are you able to help - or what else do you do in such cases? Turn them away
(yes, I know we are not humanitarian organizations but O&P businesses - help
every once in a while is okay- aid free of charge too often jeopardizes our
service potential even for those who have insurance or personal funds).
Are there organizations aiding US citizens in need?
If so- may I have their address, please?

HOW MANY of such cases do you see in say a year?
What size is the geographic area covered by this answer?
Are there regional (geographic) differences?

Would you be interested in participating in obtaining (buying) reduced cost
(new and approriate) prosthetic components FOR THIS SPECIFIC TARGET GROUP
ONLY (needs proof for each single case).
Please do not misunderstand: This is NOT a business offer - it is about
humanitarian aid ONLY!!

As soon as I learn more about the need I'd be happy to let you know more
about this potential future ressource for humanitarian aid. Thank you for
your comments or answers.
