The list was the concept of and is the burden of Paul. This forum has been
the site of some very good debate on issues relating to O&P, a vital source
of clinical information, and sometime a courier for some other types of
messages.
There has been some very good, some that did not apply to everyone, and some
that really did not have a place here.
I believe the list should go on as it has. A place to for clinical
discussions. A place to find sources of products and services. A place for
a help wanted message. A place for discussing issues that relate to
O&P..even if the discussion only involves a relatively small number of list
members.
This Florida discussion about Mr. Panton being nominated by the Florida
Governor is a good example. I have known Mr. Panton for a while. I know
the board chair, Mr. Fredrick. They both do work for the same company and
report to the same manager. The question for this board is...Should a
regulating board be dominated by employees of one company?
I know the vast majority of the users of this service don't care about the
topic, but the users from Florida may. Next week users in Texas may have a
licensure issue to talk about. Or maybe New Jersey, Washington, or
Indiana....Maybe it will be about the government federalizing all O&P
practices in Whoville...the point is that not everything matters to
everyone. If this does not matter to you...delete it..it is only and email,
maybe one of hundreds you get a day.
And..thank you Paul for providing this service and all the work you do to
maintain it.
