To all those in the prosthetics business, we would like to express appreciation on this Thanksgiving weekend, for helping people to walk. At times it seems as if there is not enough appreciation from amputees, only criticism and complaints, because so far no one has been able to outdo God in providing a perfect limb. However, to those of you who try, the world is a better place because of your dedication, and for your even choosing to enter this field in the first place. Your patients/clients most likely start out angry (not with you necessarily, but with their circumstances following an amputation), or perhaps full of hope that the world will go on as it once did. Surprise! It ain't necessarily so. Then even if and when you do your best, there is no guarantee the amputee will be satisfied, and his/her increased anger may then be directed at you. What we really want to say is, keep at it and do your best. They need you. God bless.
