I am a BK amputee in Columbus, Ohio. I just celebrated my 55th birthday
by running and walking a total of 55 miles in 14 hours 38 minutes. I did
so without discomfort relative to my prosthesis, proving that with quality
professional care and quality prosthetic componentry all things are indeed
possible.

My sincere thanks to Rick Nitsch, CPO and the dedicated staff at Columbus
Orthopaedic and Prosthetic, TEC Interface and Flexfoot for their support
and quality products.

I would like to organize a 24 hour challenge for amputees in Columbus, Ohio
in October of 2001. I am interested in contact from O & P facilities
nationwide who would be interested in sponsoring a client or patient for
participation in the event.

This would not be a race. It would be a celebration of personal
achievement and demonstration of the value of quality care and componentry
in the life of an amputee. If you have a client or patient you think
would be interested contact me.

The additional purpose of this event is to encourage your facility to start
an organization that would provide sport and recreational programming for
individuals with disabilities in your area like the one I am involved with
here in Columbus. Your representative will return to your facility with
a great personal experience and the tools needed to start your
organization.
