Prosthetists,
The UW bioengineering dept has a long standing involvement with
interface pressure and shear msmts in PTB sockets. They are now
considering investigating the interface mechanics of TSB and gel liners
in transtibial sockets. In order to focus the research questions, it
would be helpful to hear your clinical experience related to the
following:
1. What residual limb characteristics are contraindications for TSB?
2. When you decide it is indicated, what biomechanical factors influence
your decision for liner choice? (exclude price, durability, warranty,
allergy, etc.) Feel free to give as detailed explanation as you like.
3. How do you base your decision for pin vs. suction?
Thank you for your help.
