The Sydney 2000 Paralympic Games have entered their homestretch now, just
days before the sold-out (that's sold out with 100,000-plus spectators)
Closing Ceremony on Oct. 29 and it's all available on
<URL Redacted>. The plaudits, records and firsts continue to pile up
fast and furiously. Consider:
· More than 154 world records were broken by Tuesday, the most of any
Paralympics to date and there were still five days to go.
· It's official: The world's greatest sports fans are Australian. With more
than one million tickets sold, attendance records have been shattered -- and
the sales continue at a rapid clip.
· By the time the Paralympic flame is extinguished late Sunday evening, more
than 550 gold medals will be handed out to athletes from 122 countries, the
most ever.
· And the biggest webcast event ever mounted on the Internet, WeMedia.com's
streaming coverage of the Sydney 2000 Paralympic Games will have totaled 150
available hours of live coverage.
· All of that video is being supplemented by a team of writers and editors
who are producing more than 15 news articles and features each day.
· Results, photo galleries, rules and history. It's all available at
<URL Redacted>
So come on along for these last thrilling days of the Sydney 2000 Paralympic
Games. This is a first in a lifetime event and you should be there. And tell
your friends.
