To post to me from name witheld,
I totally agree with you, everything you said. I seen nowhere in any of my posts or Forest Sexton's post that suggests Hanger management tells you to use Hanger suppliers. I know they don't. I've discussed this with other Hanger facility managers. I don't think that's the point.
Hanger S.P.S. and S.O.G.I. advertises their PRODUCTS to, what I call, the general public, meaning independent facilities. It should be known, however, that these Hanger suppliers charge the public a much higher price for these PRODUCTS than they do a Hanger owned facility.
This is what the list is for, to let these facts be known.
If you, as a Hanger manager, take offense to that, so be it. It's still a fact. Is it wrong to charge different prices, probably not. Is it wrong for Hanger to sell Lenox Hill Knee Braces to Discount Houses and Sporting Goods retailers, probably not. Does it diminish your reputation as a professional practitioner, absolutely not.
Does it raise question as to Hanger's dedication to the Orthotic & Prosthetic profession, Yes.
Does Hanger Upper Management care more about bottom line than the future of the Orthotic & Prosthetic profession ? ? That's the question. Does Hanger Upper Management really care if their quest to raise profits at their facilities hurts the independent facility ? ?
We're not talking about Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Target, etc. doing the same thing. We're talking about the O&P profession, of which you are member and professional practitioner, which I hope, comes before the name on your front door.
