Thank you Stephanie!

The below statement was sent by the Academy's President Stephanie D.
Langdon-Bash CPO,FAAOP
You may access another source of her formal statement to Medicare by
accessing :

The Academy made up of over 2000 indivual ABC certified practitioners feel
strongly that orthotic or prosthetic health care services should not be
involved in the competitive bidding process.

Perhaps those wanting to advocate against O&P competitive bidding without
qualification should access the web site above and join the Academy's
efforts to addressing opposition to Mr. Mark Wynn at HCFA (address is on
Ms.Langdon-Bash's letter contained at the web site).

Where does ABC, BOC, AOPA and NAAOP??

Tony
> The Academy has sent a few letters to HCFA regarding the competitive
bidding
> issue in Texas. We are trying to get them to recognize utilization of
> qualified providers for all custom O&P services to their beneficiaries.
A
> petition against unregulated competitive bidding was signed by many of the
> attendees at the AAOP meeting in San Diego was also sent to HCFA
expressing
> our concerns.
> The Academy is trying to do what we can to support our members and the ABC
> certified professionals.
> Sincerely,
> Stephanie D. Langdon-Bash CPO,FAAOP
> AAOP President
