Text:

Kjell-Ake Nilsson, CPO at Linkoping University Hospital, Sweden wrote
PTS stands for Prothése Tibiale Supracondylien (supracondylar BK
prosthesis), and was ... developed in France in the mid-60s by a guy
named Fajal. Jo Nagels CPO concurs, spelling it slightly differently:
Prothese Tibiale Supracondylienne.

David F. Moretto, CP, FAAOP and Robert Rhodes CO forwarded the citation.
Mr Rhodes note said:

Kurt Marschall, in his 1966 article, in Orthotic and Prosthetic
Appliance Journal, p.123, says, The other type was first introduced in
theory and practice by Guy Fajal of Nancy, France , at an International
Seminar on Prosthetics in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 1964. Fajal calls it
a PTS prosthesis because of its patellar and supracondylar enclosure
without any further suspension aid above the knee.

Thanks for the help!
