Dear List Members,
I am currently working on my Bachelor of Prosthetics and Orthotics Honours thesis regarding methods of amputee education during rehabilitation in Australia.
I have read papers by Smith & Smith (Journal of Prosthetics and Orthotics, 1994) and by Watanabe et. al (International Journal of Rehabilitation Research, 1999). I have also accessed the educational materials produced by the Farnum Rehabilitation Center (New Hampshire, US). I am interested in evaluating the nature and extent of information provided to amputees during rehabilitation and would like to compare trends internationally with the results of my investigations to be conducted later this year.
Any information regarding education guides, handbooks or packages (eg: video, leaflets and CD-ROM) that are currently distributed to amputees during their rehabilitation and how I might access them would be most helpful.
If any members from the UK, Sweden, the US and Japan would be able to assist me, any information would be much appreciated. Responses will be summarised and posted to the list.
Regards,
Lee Milburn
