Donating used prosthetics
Text:
Hello all,
A few years back I had a wonderful avenue for donating old prostheses. There
was an Orthopedic Surgeon who did some mission work in Kenya and Nigeria.
Each year he would solicit area O&P facilities for supplies and equipment.
There was apparently a couple of young prosthetists there who were partially
supported by their church. They were thankful for whatever we could give them
and as I understood it they had become quite talented and creative with
making the best of what we sent. I am currently looking for a similar
situation or cause for the purpose of donating our used components and
prostheses. Anyone with information about such efforts is asked to respond to
me on this list-serv or send written information about your group to:
Beacon P&O
3911 New Bern Ave.
Raleigh, NC 27610
Thank you,
Eddie White, CP
