Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
Since September 1995 I have been studying Biomedical Engineering at the
Fachhochschule (Technical College) in Giessen (Germany). At present I am in
my 5th semester, having taken my intermediate examination in December 1996.
I expect to complete my diploma by September 1999.
One of the requirements of my course is the completion of a 20-week
internship. I am interested in gaining experience in working abroad and
would like very much to have this placement in the United States of America.
I do have a good knowledge of the English language.
I consider the Orthopedic Industry, the Prosthetic Industry in particular, a
very interesting sector of Biomedical Engineering where I see my future
job: to be precise, I would prefer a workplace which combines mechanical and
electronic aspects for the control of artificial limbs.
My apprenticeship was as an electrician and my studies in Biomedical
Engineering (I have already obtained certificates in: Principles of
Mechanical Engineering, Materials of Medicine, Electrical Engineering and
Methods of Electrical Measurement) gave me a basic theoretical knowledge
which I would like to put into practice in the Orthopedic Industry via an
internship.
Such a 20-week internship would give me an opportunity to learn a lot from
your engineers while they are working on projects, maybe I could also
participate in such projects - if that is possible - in order to get some
practical experience.
Enclosed you will find my résumé for your consideration. I would appreciate
the opportunity of doing an internship in your company for 20 weeks during
the period from end of March to the end of August 1998.
If you require any further information, please contact me at the above address.
I am looking forward to hearing from you as soon as possible.
Yours sincerely
Alexander Kleusberg
