Hi all,
I have a 35 year old female patient who has lost almost all function of her
left deltoid due to an brachial plexus injury one year ago. She can abduct
her arm fully, but can only hold a abducted position for a short time. She
would like to return to skiing, but finds it difficult to pole plant which
requires approximately 25 degree plus of abduction. She also finds that her
arm does not respond quick enough and she tires quickly.
She was wondering if there are any possibilities in form of a abduction
assisted orthosis, light simple and effective. Range of motion desired up to
90 degree.
This is an unusual request, and I hope someone will be able to come up with
some suggestions.
Thanks for your help
