List,
Have a 12 year old that is just under 5 feet tall and weighs 74 pounds and is extremely active. He breaks everything he has been provided so far. He would benefit from a stance phase locking knee, but would need some recommendations due to his high activity level and small size. He still plays basketball in his left KAFO. What worked best so far is a posteriorly offset knee joint axis, but this would also need a knee extension assist as he cannot extend his knee without some outside force. An anterior stop would work, but that is causing his orthosis to break.
Does anyone have a recommendation? His right leg is 5/5, except there is some weakness in his hip flexors, 4+/5. His left side is extremely weak with the exception of dorsi and plantar flexion which are 5/5.
I hope that someone has a suggestion or better a solution.
Best regards,
Keith
