Hi Listserve,
We have been consistently finding that patients who use gel sleeves (TPE, silicone, etc), are 60 years of age or older and K2 level ambulators, develop skin breakdown on their knee cap. We have tried a few things, (regularly replacing sleeves, using GlideWear to mitigate the effects of friction on the knee cap, cutting holes in liners (yikes!), etc) but have not found noticeable improvements.
Do you have suggestions for sleeves or other products that you found helped with this?
Thank you in advance,
