Text:

I have a friend and former patient in his mid 40s who's a very active K4 congenital BK from amniotic band syndrome. He lifts weights and plays sport; volleyball, karate, etc. He needs ACL surgery and is looking for a surgeon who has worked on amputee knees. He lives in the DFW area but can travel. The first time we met in 2008, he sat in my waiting room, bowed his head, staring at his prosthetic foot held together with duct tape and said, I break everything. I said, That's great! We've been friends ever since.
