Are you like me and love pick up trucks? Have you noticed that they are costing approximately 20,000 more than 2 years ago? When I was young there was a principal that was believed and even taught. It was referred to as “supply and demand”. I give you that brief (sarcastic) introduction just to get to a point that I wanted you to consider.
I have said this before, but feel that it needs to be stated again. I just sat at my desk and opened five emails from manufacturers and each one had a common theme, PRICE INCREASE! Have you realized that our industry is one of the only that cannot pass these increases on to the consumer! By being fixed to a contracted fee schedule, we are taking a reduction in fees with every manufacturer’s price increase. Let that sink in, the higher fuel prices, and material costs increase, the less profit you will have for the same work! What are we going to do? Is there a voice in Washington that can get CMS or Congress to understand that contracted fee schedules are restricting enterprise?
