Hello,

I hope this email finds you well. My name is Maddi Santoro and I’m a
graduate student at Eastern Michigan University. I would like to invite you
to take part in this survey (Survey Link
< <URL Redacted> >) as part of my capstone project for
EMU’s O&P program.

This is a short survey that consists of mostly multiple-choice questions
along with some open ended options. It should take about 10-15 minutes to
complete and aims to provide us with descriptive data on how
Orthotic/Prosthetic education programs are addressing communication with
patients who are D/deaf/Hard of Hearing.

There is currently very little research on this topic in health care with
even less in the Orthotics and Prosthetics field. Communication has become
particularly difficult for this patient population in recent years due to
masks inhibiting the ability to read lips and facial expressions.

This survey is intended for you as an instructor and/or program director of
an Orthotic and Prosthetic educational program. No names of you or the
institution will be asked, the survey is only looking for general
information.

Please, I would really appreciate it if you could share the survey with
your coworkers and complete it yourself by April 1st, 2022. I thank you for
your time and hope you have a great day.
