Hello Everyone
First time poster, long time Lurker!
I'm asking for your help in finding a Model 6 Hook (Right side) for a patient of mine.
I have a patient who was born with a limb deficiency at the Wrist Disartic level who is in his late 50's now and has been using the Model 6 work hook for more than 40 years.
I think you all know how hard it is to introduce change in our long time users (believe me, I have tried with little success), especially when the function or characteristics of a certain device cannot be matched.
As some of you may or may not know, Fillauer has discontinued the Model 6 terminal device. I have exhausted all my sources on the retail side and I am now on a desperate hunt to find this patient this hook. I would probably take 3 or 4 of these, if they were in new or almost new condition, just so I could keep this patient in this style of hook for as long as possible.
He has a number of them from over the years but they are all pretty much destroyed and Fillauer is also no longer refurbishing these.
Also, on the topic of change, does anyone know of a similar device made by a different manufacturer? I have little experience with manufacturers other than Hosmer/Fillauer when it comes to work hook terminal devices.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
