Hello everyone,
I'd love some feedback on a new bilateral AK patient I met briefly today. He was a unilateral amputee for about a year. Unsure how he did since he was with a different company. His mom said he did well but soon after receiving the leg he started having issues with his other side. I don't know what type of knee/foot he had but I will be learning when I evaluate him in a few weeks. I do know he has a medicaid plan.
He's young, overweight, 30 yrs old, strong, motivated.
1. Do you always start with stubbies
2. Do you always start with no knee or locked knees?
I've worked with a few bilateral AKs prior but they were older and definitely needed to start with stubbies. I'd appreciate any feedback you have on working with bilateral AKs.
Thanks!
